"One of the best things about maternity sessions is that they invite us into a special time in a couple’s life - the serene, beautiful moments just before the little one comes into their world and changes it forever. Rory and Jason wanted to capture this time as it is right now, and for this reason we decided a cozy lifestyle session in their home was the perfect choice."
- Photographer, Callie Manion
Callie is absolutely right. As a photographer myself, there is a delicacy and an importance that comes with maternity sessions. It's different than engagement session or even a wedding day. There is a buzz to the air - a tactile notion that everything is soon to change.

"I absolutely loved Rory’s gorgeous white lace intimates and cozy sweater. Rory kept it casual and soft, while also feminine and flirty. I thought her selections made the photographs feel intimate and warm. Jason’s navy and grey separates added the perfect amount of masculine style and contrasted beautifully with Rory’s gorgeous pink floral robe. Another element of this shoot that was so fun was that Rory is a fellow creative professional! She designs jewelry for her company, Rory Ashton Jewelry. Rory has impeccable taste and style! I love how her minimal, sophisticated diamond pendant necklace added just enough sparkle to her overall look.
One of my favorite things about lifestyle sessions that take place in a couple’s home is the ability to capture their style and aesthetic. Rory’s and Jason’s minimal, sophisticated furnishings complemented their Texas home beautifully. I loved the cool tones of the color pallette of their interior design with the bright, airy, white kitchen and the dark blue velvet couch. Perfect industrial elements like the wood cabinets and steel stools added just enough texture to create beautiful contrasts. I also loved how much light their home got from all of the big windows in each room. Their space is truly a perfect blend of masculine and feminine aesthetics, and I loved capturing them in it!"
